interesting to note that the steeple was built inside the tower and then raised to
the top of the church. The bell in the tower was installed around the year 1910. It
was purchased in Saint John, and shipped to Morden on a freight ship called the
Ruby L.
Funds for its purchase were raised through the use of ‘Bell cards’, which were given
to each contributor in exchange for a donation. Benefit tea meetings were held each
summer as the church was being built.
The six monogrammed windows in the nave were placed there through the efforts
of Miss Jane Orr and the other women in the congregation. Charles Clarke gave the
large west window in memory of his father, John G. Clarke. The altar, prayer desk,
and lectern were gifts of the Holy Trinity Church, Yarmouth. The pulpit was...
